Helianthus Long Pendant Light

Named after the sunflower genus, the Helianthus Long Pendant Light is a sculptural expression of natural geometry and material-led design. This statement large pendant light evolved from a simple exploration of wood veneer—specifically Sycamore veneer, chosen for it’s unique ability to bend along the grain with strength and grace.

By tripling the original Helianthus pendant form in CAD, we created a composition of conical flutes that echo the radial symmetry of sunflower heads. Each element is precision-cut and assembled by hand, merging sharp geometry with the warmth of organic inspiration. A sycamore veneered frame holds the forms in tension, fanning them outward like petals, while subtly diffusing light and shadow for a soft, ambient glow.

Designed for larger spaces, this handmade lighting piece works beautifully over long dining tables, kitchen islands, or open-plan interiors. Its wide base casts a generous pool of light downward, while the translucent veneers glow outward and upward—inviting attention without overwhelming a room.

More than just a pendant light, the Helianthus Long is a celebration of craft, nature, and thoughtful design.
