Description

The new Pear-drop lantern is made using a mix of modern and traditional techniques. We utilise the precision of computer aided design and laser cutting to produce rigid frames in high quality birch ply. We then use traditional Japanese/laminated papers to cover the structures by hand, carefully finishing each panel leaving an enclosed structure. The lantern you see here uses ‘washi’ gold and silver fleck paper strengthened with a grey linen along the spines. The paper has a grey tint when switched off and then glows quite white when lit. The view from underneath the lantern has been carefully designed to show off the form and structure of the frame with an over-sized LED bulb to finish. Each lantern is carefully constructed by hand from our furniture workshop in Suffolk.

Indoor use only (IP20) – Calex softline globe 125mm diameter 2700k 6w LED dimmable bulb, black 100mm round ceiling rose and black braided cable included. The lantern has a fixed chrome lamp holder and stem inside ready to screw a bulb into.
